The Founding Fathers Said...

Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer. - Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776

Good Morning:

I question a lot of the rhetoric coming from the US Congress.  For instance:

Ÿ         Why does the ability to purchase health insurance have to come from a new health care bill?  For years the Federal Government prohibited shopping across State lines for health insurance because Congress listened to the Insurance Lobby rather than do what was best for their constituents.  We all know that competition reduces costs.

Ÿ         Similarly, meaningful Tort Reform against frivolous medical litigation has been blocked by the Trial Lawyer Lobby for many years.  Doctors agree abolishing such law suites would reduce their costs with a resulting saving to the patient of some $54 billion dollars a year.

Ÿ         Fraud in the Medicare system siphons off some $60 billion dollars a year.  “Stealing from Medicare is easier than selling dope, safer, more lucrative and less jail time if caught,” says one crook.  As the years roll by why, oh why, hasn’t Congress put a stop to this?  It’s as if a billion dollars is meaningless the way Congress throws money around!

I hesitate to bore the reader with more statistics.  Suffice to say more citizens are happy with their health care program than not.  It would logically follow then that Congress should concern itself with the 20% or so that have inadequate health care.  Instead we have thousand-plus page Bills crafted by APOLLO, ACORN and SEIU that thrust Government run Health Care on us whether we want it or not.

President Obama promised America his Administration would be, “Transparent and open.”  “Bills would be published for public viewing for five days before Congress would vote.”  Such has not been the case.  “Committee meeting will be open and aired on C-Span.”  Committee meetings have been closed to the public.  My President lied to me.

I find it hard to believe that President Obama after only 11 days in office was nominated for and won the Nobel Peace Prize; mmm, mmm, mmm.  This probably was due in part to the various apology tours through Europe and the Middle East; National self-denigration.  Or perhaps it could be the appointment of Czars and Special Advisors to the President that are avowed and admitted Radical Revolutionaries, or Communists, or Marxists, or Maoists, or Progressive Socialists.

I could be wrong but I fail to see how this gang will further the concept of the Founding Fathers to strengthen our Republic.  Why would the President surround himself with this environment of hate for America?

ACORN is analogous to the Hollywood bogeyman that never dies, and is resurrected every Halloween; it just won’t go away.  Last August we were told the US Government was de-funding ACORN.  We now find out that come October 31st it will be back in business and fully funded; just it time for Halloween and to work its magic along with the New Black Panthers on the mid term election next Tuesday.

Next December the President will be asked to sign the Global Climate Control Treaty.   This will subordinate America to a World Government and transfer our wealth to third world countries because of our climate debit.  Is this crazy or what?
