Great find, guys. Your website is on my Daily Must Read list, along with the American Thinker.

Just wish all us thoughtful people could figure out a way to control our so-called "representative government."

Time to throw the BS Flag. EADS is a European government backed consortium that subsidizes it's work for building Airbus. Boeing receives no government subsides. How does one expect Boeing to compete with a company who can adjust it's cost with foreign subsides? Besides the Airbus design was too big to allow it to park any significant number of the aircraft on the ramps available at most of the overseas airfields that the US would have to use in providing contingency support. And numbers count. The lease offer by Boeing that began all this was an honest effort to get the planes the USAF needs quickly at a good price. Thanks to McCain and government screw ups, that effort was cancelled. It's long past time for being politically correct and start building tankers.

the supreme court has been lieing for years. they've said that the constitution says there must be seperation of church and state, but i just read thru it again, and it says nothing about churc or state. so how can the highest court in our country declare that praying, bible reading, or telling people about one's beliefs be against the law? how can they say that public displays of menorahs and nativity scrnes be illigal? the high court is dead wrong.

When I graduated from college it was with a BA in History, a minor in Physics, a teaching certificate, and my ROTC commission. I had joined AF ROTC to avoid the draft and also because they said I could become a pilot and offered to pay for my last two years of college. I took the courses to obtain the teaching certificate so that I would be able to find a teaching job after leaving the AF in five years.

Part of the certificate requirement was six months of student teaching. I was not surprised to learn that none of the education courses required by the college for certification provided anything of value towards the actual classroom experience. The most helpful skills I had learned that applied toward teaching and classroom control I had learned from ROTC.

Back in those days, the late 60’s, we also had an advantage present day teachers apparently do not, and that was the rule of ‘en loco parentis’ – In place of the parent. That allowed the teacher to disciple as if they were the child’s parent. As applied in Minnesota schools that did not mean a teacher could hit, spank, or paddle but you could at least touch them in order to control.

A key point was that you dressed for the role. A good part of teaching is speaking and acting, and if you looked the part of someone who could command respect you had won half the battle. I note today in many cases the rules of dress code have slipped significantly.

The eraser thrown at the student was also used, although the near miss with corresponding ‘WACK’ as it hit the wall behind was just as effective. So was the solid oak meter stick slammed on a desk top. Today the student would just as likely pick up the eraser and throw it back at the teacher. Why? Respect. If the kids have no respect for their parents, or elders, they start with an attitude of no respect for the teacher.

This is not just a school problem, it’s a societal problem. We expose our children to so much bad behavior through television, and compound that by lack of parenting, what do you expect?

Just another example of the nut case running Iran. Iran and the Caliphate Mullahs have been behind every act of international terror since they took over the country. Their version of Islam profits lies and acts of suicide and terror as long as they further the cause. Now the dilly dathering Obama administartion and the international community is about to allow them to build nukes. I say we should give the people of Tehran a week to pack up and leave, then turn the place into a radioactive smoking hole, and then ask which city would they like destroyed next? And continue as long as it takes to send them all to their 76 virgins.
